CONSCIOUS CREATIVE COMMUNITY & REGENERATIVE CULTURE
“Ours is a complicated era, and so we need every resource and example of heart and resilience we can find. It is both comforting and challenging to realize that no one person can wrestle from the Earth the song of how we can survive together, and no one voice can sing that chorus.” Mark Nepo from More Together Than Alone

HEART CIRCLES (we are currently prioritizing Bardic Council, but stay tuned for Heart Circle Announcements)
At a time when our differences are emphasized everywhere we look, we offer our community a simple ritual of connection. Monthly Heart Circles at the Songhouse Sanctuary foster our sense of belonging by creating space for simple heart-felt sharing and listening. Early arrivers join together with a simple heartbeat drum rhythm to help us let go of the day, and enter a quiet heart space together. We introduce the circle format, and begin again in silence. Without use of a talking stick, we develop a different sense of deep listening for the moment it is our time to share. There are no time -limits to our sharing, but we do uphold the awareness that all present are being invited to participate within the two hours of circle.
Songs, poems, dreams, even dances are brought to the circle as ways to express the deeper current of our human experience. Most commonly there is a personal heart story that wants to be heard and held in the circle. Our guidelines come from the Ojai lineage of Council... Speak from the Heart, Listen from the Heart, Speak to the Essence, and Be Spontaneous. There is no cross talk or processing. Each person is honored with collective breath, and silent space between shares. As our listening deepens, a sense of the "group field" emerges.
as if our individual hearts have begun to beat together.
We meet outside around a fire at the Songhouse Sanctuary whenever possible. Please bring outdoor seating if you have special needs. Log benches and a few chairs will be available. Layer up, and bring water. If you have a drum you are welcome to bring that too.
We begin promptly at 7pm and you are encouraged to come at 6:30pm or at least 15 minutes before to settle in.
This is event is offered as a gift to our community at no charge.
Donations are always welcome to help support the development of the
Songhouse Sanctuary as a place-based resource for fostering our community.
We welcome all community members to join the circle. Please Contact Mia directly for location address and questions
